Mary Katrantzou: yesterday, today and tomorrow

Mary Katrantzou presented her first collection in the Fall of 2008 as part of the Central Saint Martins' (senior) master show... her designs were fresh takes on trompe l'oeil.  Five years later, Mary Katrantzou is sold in more than 240 retailers internationally, and has made a strong mark for herself with her digital prints and creative silhouettes.

Having become known for color, and strong prints, her most recent, Fall 13 collection was received with mixed reviews.  Many felt she abandoned that which made her famous... with a collection full of black (and little prints).

But the designer stays strong with faith in her work... and was earlier mentioned as a replacement for Nicholas Ghesquiere at Balenciaga.  She currently has a collaboration with Current Elliot Jeans (which will soon be an addition to her main line).  She also has plans for a leather goods line, an interior line, and collaborations which are more "art related."
