Ralph Lauren fanatics in Japan

Everyone knows that American Sportswear is a major influence around the world.  Everyone knows that Ralph Lauren is a big part of that influence, but lately with the addition of the online only project, RL Vintage, we have seen a new wave of Japanese men becoming collectors of the label.

Masuro Kondo (pictured above) is one of those men.  His first fascination with Ralph Lauren started on a business trip to California decades ago... when popping into the Rodeo Drive store.  He says, "it was a small store, but it was beautiful.  I'd never seen anything like it."  Many rodeo belts, fair isle vests, ski-scene silk ties, and baker-boy caps and years later... Kondo realizes he has become a collector and says Ralph Lauren is what lasts, and what he continues to wear.
